Innovations in Electronic Components Unveiled at MWC 2025

MWC 2025 showcased groundbreaking advancements in electronic components, with industry leaders unveiling their latest innovations. These developments highlight the sector’s ongoing transformation and its pivotal role in shaping future mobile technologies.

MediaTek: Advancing 5G-Advanced NTN and Smart Cockpit Solutions

MediaTek demonstrated its cutting-edge 5G-Advanced Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) technology, leveraging the Ku-band NR-NTN for broadband connectivity. This showcase was built on the company’s successful real-world tests with OneWeb's Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites, in collaboration with AIRBUS, Eutelsat OneWeb, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), and Sharp.

Additionally, MediaTek unveiled its Dimensity Auto Smart Cockpit chipset platform, featuring advanced virtual machine management for multimedia, 3D rendering, and AI-powered applications. The company also introduced an 8K display smart cockpit (eCockpit), developed in partnership with key industry players, redefining next-generation in-car entertainment experiences.

Samsung Display: Pushing OLED Technology to New Heights

Under the theme “OLED Magic,” Samsung Display introduced several groundbreaking OLED innovations. A standout exhibit was the borderless OLED tile display, consisting of ten 6.8-inch borderless panels seamlessly integrated with a 31.5-inch main display, forming a 1.8-meter-wide, 0.3-meter-high immersive screen. By minimizing the external wiring width, Samsung achieved a 40% reduction in bezel size, maximizing screen real estate for mobile devices.

Other concept products included an 18.1-inch foldable OLED resembling a handbag and a 3.38-inch diamond-shaped OLED for clamshell foldable smartphones, demonstrating Samsung’s continuous leadership in display technology.

Longsys: Pioneering Next-Generation Storage Solutions

Making its MWC debut, Longsys presented its PTM-powered storage solutions, emphasizing a comprehensive approach from controller chip R&D to product design, testing, and intelligent manufacturing.

The company introduced two innovative storage solutions featuring proprietary controller technology and advanced manufacturing processes, delivering higher performance and lower power consumption. These advancements are set to enhance data storage capabilities in mobile and edge computing applications.

Rohde & Schwarz: AI-Driven Test and Measurement Solutions

Rohde & Schwarz (R&S) showcased the role of artificial intelligence in testing and signal processing, unveiling a new AI-powered script assistant that integrates generative AI and natural language processing. This technology automates test script generation and functional verification, significantly reducing time-to-market for new products.

Another key highlight was R&S’s AI neural receiver test platform, featuring the R&S SMW200A vector signal generator with dynamic fading customization. This development broadens the application of AI-native air interface concepts in 6G research, paving the way for next-generation wireless communications.
